Verse by Verse Ministry of San Antonio is a non-profit, non-denominational, Christian ministry devoted to the preaching and teaching of God's word clearly and boldly, in its proper historical and theological context, and for the purposes God has ordained: to persuade the unbeliever of the truth of the Gospel and to equip the saints for the work of ministry. This ministry was founded on a commitment to provide methodical, verse-by-verse teaching of God's word at no charge, thus ensuring the whole counsel of God is proclaimed (Acts 20:27).

The principle teacher for the ministry is Stephen Armstrong, though the ministry seeks to expand its offerings by including other expository teaching in the future. The principle activities of the ministry are organizing and conducting group Bible studies, preaching expository sermons from pulpits throughout the U.S., publishing a periodic newsletter, maintaining the Verse by Verse Ministry website, developing written Bible study materials and responding to Bible questions submitted by listeners through the ministry website.

The Verse by Verse Ministry website is the centerpiece of the ministry's work. The site began as a simple way to distribute teachings to Bible class students, but the Lord has grown it into a Bible study resource for students across the world. Currently, the Verse by Verse Ministry website distributes as many as 15,000 free Bible teachings every month to tens of thousands of visitors from over 40 counties. Since the ministry was founded in 2003, nearly 200,000 hours of verse-by-verse Bible teaching have been downloaded free of charge. Glory be to God!

Verse by Verse Ministry also maintains a growing mailing list of ministry supporters. Our list is used to announce new teachings and classes, distribute a ministry newsletter and publicize other news of the ministry.

Stephen & Annette are devoted to raising a family of godly children, studying God's Word and using their spiritual gifts to minister to the Body of Christ through teaching, service and encouragement.

Annette works in the home to care for the family, homeschooling daughter Katherine (age 15) and son Daniel (age 12), and supporting Stephen in his teaching ministry. Her own ministry is in service to her family and to other Christian women through teaching, encouragement and prayer (Titus 2:3-5).

Stephen, Director of Verse by Verse Ministry, serves the Lord as a pastor and teacher focused on verse-by-verse exposition of the Word of God. Stephen teaches regularly in group Bible studies, retreats and seminars, and through his writing. He preaches upon request in pulpits across the country. Currently, he is serving as interim pastor for Oak Hill Bible Church located in Austin, Texas.
